Humor, warmth, authenticity, and a commitment to social justice are the foundations of my practice. I am committed to creating an affirming space for clients from all backgrounds, abilities, and identities. I will work with you to identify how therapy can best support your goals and desires, whether you are struggling to find your footing in the chaos or stress of this moment, looking for support with building skills to navigate the challenges of parenting or other significant relationships, or seeking to experience more ease, joy, and purpose in your connection to yourself and those around you.

My Approach

My approach is informed by family systems, relational, attachment, and feminist theories. In addition to these theoretical approaches, I have significant experience using concrete strategies and evidence-based interventions to support people with anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, parenthood, infertility and trauma. I incorporate mindfulness and EMDR into my work when appropriate. I have particular interest in relationship concerns, be that parent-child, friends, or romantic partners.I received my Master’s in Social Work from NC State in 2018 and recently joined Starling Family Services after years working in community mental health. I have been working with people in helping professions in a variety of settings for much of my professional life, in and out of my role as therapist.

I strive to create a transformative space where we can be curious together about your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and values. Together we will explore what hurts and what brings joy, what is working and not working, and increase your capacity to find acceptance and make change. I hope to support you to arrive at a deeper sense of connection and possibility.

When I’m not working I’m likely traipsing around outside with my toddler and nephew, and old poodle, Walter. My life is deeply rooted in community in Durham. I moved to NC from upstate NY to attend Guilford College in Greensboro in 2001 and have lived in Durham since 2009. I’m an avid women’s soccer fan, and love baking, pop culture podcasts, being with my friends, and participating in collective efforts for liberation.
